To Pose or not to Pose?

I get this comment way too much "I don't know how to pose for pictures" and my simple response to that is "That's A-Okay!!" because when you book a session with me, I'm going to do my best to capture your best side! (not just figuratively). I use simple techniques and prompts to generate some natural looking smiles and interactions between you and your loved ones. I'll throw in some poses every now and then to keep things flowing smoothly.

I know what it's like to stand awkwardly for photos not knowing what to do and I hate it as much as you. So I feel you friend!

My goal is to make sure everyone is comfortable and not left standing around awkwardly, not knowing what to do. I'll capture you and your loved ones interacting with one another, having fun and making memories in a stress-free session! This means that if you book a family session with me, you don't have to worry and stress about your young kids not cooperating. I'll come down to their level and be silly with them and will capture their true character as they run around/giggle and explore their surroundings!

A little more about me. . .

My favorite season has and always will be Fall, I love everything about it! The colors, the weather, cozy oversized sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and absolutely NO BUGS! It doesn't get much better than that! If you ever book a session with me in Spring or Summer, don't be alarmed if you see me randomly running away for a brief second (it was most likely a bug buzzing around me) haha! Despite my fear of flying insects I actually adore camping and hiking, being out in nature and the peace and quiet that comes with kayaking down a river or on a lake. I love to sit around a campfire with friends & family on a cool Summer evening, telling jokes and passing stories. In fact most of our Summer evenings are spent in our backyard on our trampoline, playing and wrestling with our boys! As a family we'll go for lots of bike rides and take numerous trips to the park for a good o'l-fashioned game of "chase".

I'm also a coffee lover, I'll have one just about every morning simply because I love the taste. In the evenings (if I'm not editing) I'm snuggled up in my blanket with tea in hand, binging TV shows or playing videogames with my hubby. Sometimes he'll even agree to watch a soppy rom-com with me, which is my favorite movie genre!

I love photographing my children just for fun while they're having fun! They'll always be my favorite subjects so naturally I have hundreds if not thousands of photos of them!

I always aim to learn and grow in my skills as a Photographer. I have been doing this for a long time but I truly believe there is always room for improvement, as long as you're humble enough to admit that you'll never be perfect at anything.
